SBA Credit Analyst
Follow loan policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the business lending portfolio.
Coordinate and prioritize work assignments with input from VP Credit Analyst.
Preparation of loan write-ups from beginning to final product, gathering of data from internal and external sources, spreading, analyzing financial information and preparing loan write-ups and annual reviews. Prepare the Bank Approval Memorandum based upon their findings for presentation to the applicable Loan Committee to determine the outcome of the loan decision.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Must have good analytical skills necessary to evaluate business loan needs, evaluate loan structures and to determine capacity to repay debt. Must be familiar with business enterprises, underwriting concepts, accounting terms, business financials, tax returns, and lien requirements to effectively present viable business loans. Strong interpersonal and business acumen skills, demonstrate positive attitude, professional appearance. Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office products. Understand financial measurements associated with multiple business operations. Ability to orally communicate and write using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to work under pressure and achieve specific corporate goals. Understanding of SBA loan documentation, lien perfection, and UCC. Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and financial conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to build rapport with individuals and effectively communicate. The person must exercise extreme care when preparing and giving presentations and printed materials. Confidentiality pertaining to financial relationships is a key factor.
Education / Experience
3 years or more of direct experience with commercial loans; analyzing and underwriting applications.
1 to 2 years SBA Background desired but not required.
Bachelors' degree or applicable experience required.
